A weekend for connection, yoga and walking in Rydal and Langdale, Ambleside. A beautiful part of the stunning Lake District, National Park, UK’s largest World Heritage site. 

Join Wendy Moran, Amity Yoga Wellness for a weekend to nurture and rejuvenate yourself. Connect, relax and refresh with Wendy’s daily hatha yoga practices, with guided meditations, energy shifting yogic breathing, pranayama. Restorative yoga asana and deep relaxation, yoga nidra.

Take time in nature for mindful walks with Jamie Boreham, Inspirit Walking Guide who will guide you through Langdale. Below Jamie explains some more details about the walk.

Langdale is a perfect example of what the Lake District has to offer walkers right in the heart of the national park. This guided walk explores the area around the bottom of the two valleys – Great Langdale and Little Langdale. Taking in rivers, 2 waterfalls, lakes, iconic bridges, farmland, woodland, historic secret caves and both valleys, this walk really does give a bit of everything! The beautiful and varied landscapes contrast in the two valleys with stunning views, peaceful paths, and awe inspiring landmarks. 

Duration: 4-5 hours including coffee and lunch stops, taken at a leisurely pace with breaks when needed.

This walk is a low level valley walk. For walking it is expected that you have a good level of fitness.”

Nab Cottage is a comfortable cosy country house in Rydal. It overlooks a small lake and is surrounded by hills. On warm days you can swim in the lake.

With plenty of group spaces and quiet corners. A piano room, gardens with hot tub and sauna. Terraces which overlook the lake. There is a large canoe and paddle boards you can use on the lake and there is direct lake access for swimming. They serve delicious fresh made vegetarian food.

About your Retreat Leader

Wendy Moran is a BWY Hatha Yoga Teacher and Founder of Amity Yoga Wellness. An advanced practitioner she has taught and hosted wellness events for 17 years.

A retreat leader hosting retreats around the UK and Spain, including holistic and wellbeing events, workshops and corporate wellness. Based in Liverpool

Wendy offers a balance of traditional hatha yoga practices, following the 8 limbs of yoga.  Vinyasa flow is well paced with a sensitive rhythm. Meditation, yogic breathing, pranayama and deep relaxation.

She continues to deepen her practice with advanced pranayama yogic studies with Yoga Elder Sama Fabian.

Wendy especially likes to share the benefits that yoga brings to her and inspires others to make yoga a daily practice to enhance their whole wellbeing.

The retreat weekend includes:

  • 2 nights full board accommodation at Nab Cottage
  • All rooms standard twin/double/ with limited single rooms available. Option for ensuite or shared bathroom. See more accommodation details below
  • Delicious fresh vegetarian/vegan meals (cater for dietary needs please specify any special dietary needs may incur an additional cost of £30 per please enquire) Breakfast, lunch and dinner

  • This retreat is suitable for beginners and the ability yoga level is mixed from beginner, intermediate and advanced. Adapting to individual needs.

About your Walking Guide

Jamie Boreham Walking Guide and owner of Inspirit Walking.

I have always had a love for the outdoors and walking. I moved to the Lake District to indulge this passion I got hooked on the area and am out and about all the time exploring this beautiful part of the country.

Lake District Guided walks are a great way to share my love and passion for the Lake District, walking, and the outdoors in general. I have always loved sharing knowledge, showing people these wonderful places, advising on routes and constantly learning more about the place I now call home.

Along with simply guiding the walk, I want to help inspire, educate and inflame. Each walk is different, but along the way there’ll be chats and opportunities to learn about all sorts – plants, animals, Lake District culture, geology, history, random facts and much more!

Come with me and let me show you what the Lake District has to offer at a lower level – rivers, lakes, waterfalls, farms, fields, flowers, woods, caves, birds, trees, rocks and everything in between!

Arriving at Nab Cottage

  • Nab Cottage is under 2 hours by from Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds/Bradford, Blackpool and Newcastle airports. Taxi collections can be arranged. 
  • If traveling by car parking is available. 

Public transport

  • There are also direct train connections from all these airports to Windermere, our local station.
  • See The Train Line or National Rail for times. From Windermere it is 6km to Nab Cottage and a direct bus journey.
  • It is also possible to take a bus from the airports to Ambleside, 3km from Nab Cottage.

  • Deposit £250 non refundable or transferable
  • Balance is due 1 August 2025 to confirm your booking
  • Bookings via Bacs payment do not have any booking fees
  • Bookings via event booking websites will add booking fees 
  • Bookings can be made via Paypal
  • Bookings via payments via credit card incur 1.2% booking fee, per transaction an invoice can be raised by request.

Acceptance of Booking Terms 

Please ensure you have read booking terms, as processing your payment you are agreeing to the acceptance of the booking terms and conditions.  

Cancellations 

Refunds are not provided for cancellations. Please ensure you have holiday insurance that will cover reasons of non attendance on the retreat. Insurance will offer protection cover for cancellations, sickness and loss/damage to property. 

Limitation of liability 

Amity Yoga Wellness, Wendy Moran is not responsible for any loss damage to personal property, any injury or illness sustained during the retreat. Or any other unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control. No refund or transfers will be available. 

If the retreat is cancelled by the venue or myself you will be offered alternative dates.
